the neckties with their labels:
one of the cases of ties (apologies for the flash's reflection on the glass). we sat at a booth surrounded by ties all dated 1967 or 1968...so they've been doing this for a while now.
caswell, andy, and MJ (deans and PAs at oriel) at our booth - you can see how the tie cases line the walls around the seating areas.
there were only eight teams, but we got third place! here are some questions to test your knowledge:
1. who wrote the theme music for the pink panther?
2. who wrote the cat in the hat? (shockingly, this is an american story more so than a british one - none of my british friends at the table knew the answer to this! they had heard of the author, but couldn't name many of his books. wowsers.)
3. who played catwoman in the recent movie of the same name?
4. at what temperature on the kelvin scale does water freeze?
5. name all five elements on the periodic table with only four letters in their name.
6. what does IBM stand for?
7. what does QUANTAS (the airline) stand for? (note: i had no idea this was an acronym.)
8. what group sang the song "who let the dogs out"?
9. what name did saul of tarsus take when he became christian?
10. what is the most common gas in the air we breathe?
