london!

hello, family -

i've decided to reinvent my blog from last summer's trip to france into a blog to show you some of my pictures from the british isles. enjoy, and feel free to pass on to whomever you'd like.

london was first...

this first picture is of us on the day we arrived in london at 6am, having slept the night before on the plane. we couldn't check into our hotel yet (to take a nap), and we felt like we couldn't waste a day in london, so we bought a ticket for a bus ride tour of the city, and i did not stay awake for very long of it, as you can see here. it was a nice way to see the city (the parts i was awake for) without exerting too much energy - energy we did not have.

the five of us who went on the trip!

me and q at our favorite pub, the swan, where we listened to fun live music and drank beers for two of the three nights we were in london. apparently, we are people of habit.

so, when you have your own blog you can put all the cute pictures of yourself on it, because honestly - no one can stop you! so this picture is designed to show one of my least attractive moments (so you can laugh at me). outside of the national gallery in london there are four huge lions, and when i went to london in high school we climbed all over them. so we tried it again. and i had a difficult time getting on. it was tragic and hilarious, so this is me getting up to the lion (i am the headless person in the purple sweater) and then a picture of the four of us (q refused to try to climb up there, so he took the pictures).

three of us in kensington gardens - across the street from our hotel - where it was chilly, but not too cold.

three of us later that day on the millennium bridge (a footbridge that crosses the thames river) where it was cold as shit. note that my smile looks forced (it was) and i am using my shirt sleeves as mittens. i am sad and hoping we get somewhere warm very soon.

so that's a little bit from our trip to london. next stop - edinburgh!
